| I made this wallhanging as a birthday gift for my father-in-law, Harold. He works for the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center, where they are allowed to bring their pets to work. Tig, a yellow labrador, had been a part of the family for over 11 years, and was a faithful "employee" for at least 7. After I made Kathy's Lab Quilt I knew I had to make a wallhanging for Harold's office to honor Tig.
Tig was named after Tiglath-Pileser, King of Assyria (see 2 Kings 15-16). So I chose the block "King's Crown" as the overall pattern and placed the lab head block in the center. |

I used several fabrics that had a canine motif (paw prints, bones, etc). One fabric had stripes of different prints, so I was able to use that as the border. This was my first experience with mitered borders. I was pleased with the results! The quilt now hangs in Harold's office at the Center. |
