| I made this wallhanging for my dear friend Jenny. We met at the beginning of our freshman year of college, then lived together for the following two years. During that time, we spent countless evenings sitting at the kitchen table (with our other roommate Anne) sipping tea and talking. After we were both married, we got together frequently with Valerie (and others) for Bible study and prayer time, often over a cup of tea. My mom found the pattern for Time for Tea and thought I would be interested. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect for Jenny. | ![]() |
| The original pattern makes a small wallhanging (smaller than 12" x 15"), so I decided to enlarge the foundation pattern to 200%. I also flipped the cups on the lefthand side of the quilt. I thought it looked better to have the handles on the outside. Plus I am a lefty, and that looks more natural to me!
Jenny likes blue and yellow, so I used some leftover fabric from BarJOlo plus a couple new fabrics. I was delighted to find a yellow and blue patchwork print that had teapots on it, so I was sure to use that in the border. |

| Jenny just moved out of state, so this was a going-away present. In her new home she plans to decorate the kitchen with a teacup theme, so it should fit in perfectly. I look forward to seeing it in place! | |
