| The inspiration for this quilt is "Palette Charm" by Jinny Beyer. Her quilt pattern contains 123 of the 124 fabrics from the "Jinny Beyer Palette Fabric Collection". I however, did not want to purchase that many fabrics, nor pay for her kit! Instead I wanted to focus on 3 color families: cranberry, navy and green. Each color has seven different shades, which are used to give the illusion of ribbons woven together.
My mom purchased the fabrics for me at a quilt shop out of state. When she returned home, I was amazed at her excellent eye for color--these prints match beautifully with the fabrics in the quilt she had made for my husband and I as a wedding gift! To quilt this, I chose three variegated threads (pink, blue and green) and stitched the edges of the ribbons and two parallel lines inside the ribbons. |
