14" x 17"

This small wallhanging was made for my parents in honor of their 35th wedding anniversary. I chose 35 small squares, trying to coordinate with the swag window treatments in their livingroom. I blended the navy, sage, mauve and gold in a colorwash effect. I used a lovely batik for the border and binding.

This is the first quilting project I have made from start to finish with my "new" Viking sewing machine, including a free-motion foot. I enjoyed quilting with a meandering pattern, which is more appropriate for a watercolor quilt. I also tried my hand at writing by quilting "35" in the border.
